Has anyone else found that the MyRepublic customer service sucks?

You have to communicate with them online only. Too bad if your internet is down.

They have removed all phone calling except for sales.

I am a slow at typing and can't spell so I would rather call and talk with someone.

How do they expect you to contact them if it is now all online and you have an outage? Or are they supplying free mobile data?

There is a reason why I don't ever recommend MyRepublic on here :)

This is why I would never pick a ISP / Mobile carrier that is online only!

Simply put, move provider. 1000 times easier. Plenty of much better ones out there.

they expect you to be smart enough to have another means of getting online to log a fault

if you cant do this then an online only ISP is not the one for you

Reminds me of the Sinesurf days.... they were an "IAP, not ISP" - they gave you a connection, any issues, were up to you to fix ;)

Except they wouldn't' t have been online only when they joined them, as they said they had removed the phone numbers more recently.

There is a difference from BigPipe who have always been online-only to MyRepublic who did once have phone support but silently removed it in favor for Discord / Online-only support...

Yes, Bigpipe haven't had a call centre since day 1, whereas My Republic started with one and then quietly got rid of it later on.

To the OP, Voyager and 2degrees have a fairly good reputation, and yes, they have phone numbers you can call them on if there's an issue or you have a query.

Often the internet connection breaks up so the contact has to restart again.

I’ve been with my republic for about a week now. Had to follow up with them to see if they processed the VDSL application.

First response was it’s up and running, so I asked if I should be able to connect now.
So they immediately tell me they need to configure it, okay cool so it wasn’t up and running.
Then they asked if I had configured the router - no, because as far as my account said, I was still waiting for chorus to do something. And finally the chat cut out because my phone locked.

No customer service what so ever on a Sunday is pretty old school, I want to respect it but given what the business revolves around, all it does is annoy customers.

Every time I go through the support info on their website I end up in either Singapore or aussies site … with unusable links for chat etc. Im considering calling spark right after this post because this is just a joke and if I can get better support, I’ll happily jump ship. Might save me from pulling my hair out

Surely it would have made sense to configure the router first.

Spark Max Fibre using Mikrotik CCR1009-8G-1S-1S+, CRS125-24G-1S, Unifi UAP, U6-Pro, UAP-AC-M-Pro, Apple TV 4K (2022), Apple TV 4K (2017), iPad Air 1st gen, iPad Air 4th gen, iPhone 13, SkyNZ3151 (the white box). If it doesn't move then it's data cabled.
