I have several 2talk lines, including a number in both Wellington and Napier and a couple of 028 numbers.

I know that if I call a Wellington number of the Wellington line it is a free local call, and same for the Napier number with Napier calls, but what I am wanting to know is, do I get charged for a toll call if I call a Wellington number from the Napier line? Or from one of the 028 numbers?

All lines are on the same account.

After Reading their site, I would say.  Yes.

Quote: since all 2talk plans allow ‘Unlimited 2talk calling’

What's it cost for all those numbers?

I would say with the Wellington and Napier numbers you would have to be on one of the monthly plans and you get allocated either 500 minutes for the $15.00 plan and unlimited minutes on the other plans. These allocated minutes which you get each month can be used to call anywhere in NZ plus 40 other countries I believe. The only time you would get charged for a toll call would be on the 500 minute plan after you used this allocation of minutes up. Also calls to cellphones are charged as toll calls straight away unless you go on the 2talk unlimited + mobile plan where you get 100 minutes to any NZ mobile. This could well apply to 028 numbers as well but not too sure. Hope this answers your question.

2Talk to 2Talk is free.  Note the screen shot from their website.

I'm on the free plan with no included minutes and pay $7 for each of the regional numbers. The 028 numbers are free.

Changing to the $15 plan might be a good idea tho.

From my limited testing (so may not be right, it was only a few calls I tested with)

If you call out with the auth details of an auckland 2talk account to a wellington number, it costs you.

Likewise the other way around.

If you call out with the auth details of a 0800 2talk account, it all costs.

But you can change the caller ID in the web interface to another number, so it will call out using the wellington 2talk details, to a wellington number so no charge, but present either the auckland or 0800 number as the calling number.

Now if only we could port mobile numbers to 2talk and do the same thing...
