Hi

i seem to be having some issues in the last few days with my connection, the router seems to be connected at a good rate 27 down and 6 up

but i seem to be getting way low speeds 8 and less on downloads, there is nothing else on the line except this one machine, its all be virus scanned etc, netstat checked etc but no joy.

I believe it is more of a isp fault and not a end user fault?

any one have a idea on what it could be?

Shouldn't really matter on what's tested but still the same result to a 2degrees server.

No filters, direct line from the street, no phone service on this line. plus we have 2 other lines into the house, different providers and this one here is the one that is not preforming very good at all.

What are line sync rates on the other connections in the modem compared to the 2degrees line?

all about the same within reason, i dont know for sure but the other 2 lines are way faster than the 2degree one, tho the router is 8 years old and 2degrees are blaming it on that..

Just think - if it was a routing or throughput issue (generally) then more people, especially those on UFB would be complaining.

I 100% agree with 2degrees here, the problem appears to be within your network either with your router or configuration. Take a look at the error counters specifically at the CRC counters.

Also perhaps do a factory reset of the Fritz!Box and let it auto-configure again as often this fixes issues.

router has been factory reset and still has the same result 27 down and 6 up with only 8 down and 6 up on the speedtest, speedtests have been done on 3 devices, a lan pc, phone on wifi and a laptop on bot wifi and lan. all say the same thing.

there is not errors to talk about really.

You're not using a VPN or a proxy that you've mistakenly forgotten about? Also are there any QoS settings you've applied?

Been a while since I’ve had a dsl connection but i always remember having issues with old or long rj11 cables. You’re not running anything longer than 1.5m are you or using an oldish cable ?

no the line cable that comes into the house is a foot long, and is a rj45 both ends. this isn't the issue as there are no errors to show it could be a shitty connection..

it has been unpluged, contact cleaner sprayed and put back in and out afew times to make sure that its good..

im still picking its something to do with the line card maybe the profile got reset or something, this problem come at a odd hour at night as it was working fine, then like a light switch it was shit.
