hey im just about to sign up for orcon silver+ plan but noticed on the last page that they say tehy will try and use the cables already there but there may be aditional charges if there isnt. does this mean there is going to be charges already just for signing up?
I guess it means if the premises has had a previous connection (i.e. phone line) then that’s all ok and they will use the existing cables, however if this is not the case, i.e. new property or second line then there are other charges.
Think they mean a full insatll, or failed self install.
If you have had BB in the house b4 it should be sweet, its ment for ppl that have monitored alarms or PABX's that might need a dedicated spliter and a new hard line for DSL only.
Just wanted to confirm with an official word here that there are no sign up fees with Orcon on any of our ADSL broadband plans for a standard installation.
As the others rightly pointed out - if you do need additional wiring to your house, of you are moving to a new house that does not currently have wiring installed then there will be a fee to complete this wiring.
You can also opt to have a 'full installation' - which involves a technician coming to your house and hard wiring a splitter in on your line. In this instance there will also be a charge for this service.
hey thanks guys for all the replys Ive been with out internet as I left it abit late before moving into my new place have had to wait for it to be connected but all up and running again and in under a week which im VERY pleased with. and yes there were no fees included.
