Anyone else having this problem?  Noticed it since Friday night.  Sites will randomly fail to load, have to spam refresh until they load.  Trying to ping sites to resolve the IP will randomly fail, spamming it over and over will eventually resolve DNS.

Slingshot saying they not aware of this issue.

I found a log in my router saying:

Nov 13 00:38:47 dnsmasq[13607]: Maximum number of concurrent DNS queries reached (max: 150)

Any idea if this is because theirs something dodgy in my network spamming out requests, if the router is faulty or if this is an error coming from Slingshots server?

Yeah and the ONT, Slingshot also tried resetting my connection from their end whatever that means, said that thing had been online for 120 days.  Nothing has really made a difference yet, the issue still comes and goes.

Im not sure if that error in the log is the problem (e.g. something on my network being dodgy spamming out DNS request) or if its a symptom of the network connection going down, and then all my devices are spamming requests because they are trying to reconnect to stuff.

Trying a factory reset of the router, then I guess ill start unplugging stuff 1 by 1.

No issues on Vocus here. I think you are on the right path that the fault may be in your LAN somehow. Are you using the supplied router or your own? May be worth swapping to a different router just to isolate your router as the issue.

Using the ISP router.

Ill ask them to send me a new one as I found a thread where they were talking about another entry that keeps popping up in the log and they said maybe its the router flash going bad or something, this is the log entry: rc_service: watchdog 582:notify_rc start_dnsmasq

Looks like my routers faulty, changing DNS server on devices to 8.8.8.8 instead of the router has fixed the issue.

You've got something on your network spamming requests. I personally have the same problem (large network) where one of my DNS servers were getting slammed by NZBGet of all things.

Sustained load from this can also crash dnsmasq on your router (it's DNS caching server). This doesn't necessarily mean a faulty router at all.

I'd recommend setting up https://nextdns.io/ on your network which also does an excellent job at logging DNS so you can pinpoint what is causing this to happen and have better visibility over your network.

I've got about 26 devices connected with an IP on the main network, then there's more devices that piggy back off each other like security cameras plug into a NVR and get their own IP within that network.

I've started turning stuff off to try isolate the device.  That Nextdns stuff is awesome, im not sure I can get names for devices on IOT things tho, it says you can do it with some fancy DNS config but doesnt look like the devices support it.
