Hi

I've recently signed up to 2Degrees, received the new modem last week and had it plugged in to setup Wi-Fi / test everything works, officially get connected on 1st Dec , On Saturday the modem died some time in the afternoon, tried multiple plugs, no lights turn on, its a Frizbox 9490. Anyone had much luck with 2degrees swapping modems they provide?, I've sent a message on FB on Saturday and also tried to ring them a few times but they no longer allow you to wait on hold.

thanks

If you have signed up to them recently (eg. in the last couple of years), you'll find that they 'own' the modems (they'll charge you if you don't return them). They'll definitely swap it at no cost, the problem is getting hold of them.

You *might* have some luck at a retail store but be forewarned that retail store staff might not be trained nor have the stock to perform an exchange.

I help setup a friend on 2degrees and the router power supply died about 2 weeks later. I called 2d and they couriered a new one out with a return courier bag for the one that had died

Simple and easy no fuss at all - Yes long hold times

I received a replacement modem today Netgear Orbi  RBR350, is this a VDSL modem? when plugged in it doesn't detect any DSL signal. i don't officially get 2degrees vdsl connected until the 1st dec currently my connection is Skinny VDSL, not sure if this is an issue?

No, how could it when it has no VDSL interface, i.e., Orbi WAN interface is Ethernet. Use your Skinny VDSL2 modem on 2Degrees VDSL.

Spark Max Fibre using Mikrotik CCR1009-8G-1S-1S+, CRS125-24G-1S, Unifi UAP, U6-Pro, UAP-AC-M-Pro, Apple TV 4K (2022), Apple TV 4K (2017), iPad Air 1st gen, iPad Air 4th gen, iPhone 13, SkyNZ3151 (the white box). If it doesn't move then it's data cabled.

kind of defeats the purpose of getting a 2degrees modems though providing one that is not capable for a VDSL connection. let down by their customer service again.

guess im in for another couple hours on hold:(

I'm pretty sure that Orbi is only for fibre customers. If you are getting 2degrees xDSL (and not fibre) then it will be no good as a modem, you need a replacement Fritzbox. The Orbi might still be useful as a WiFi hotspot if they let you keep it.
