Hi,

I woke up this morning to an e-mail from 2degrees saying some account settings have changed including the account number. Also, none of my devices seem to have internet any more. The ONT seems ok, and I can ping out from my modem itself however it seems to have stopped routing internally for some reason. Settings all look good and I haven't changed anything from yesterday. Does anyone know if there's something new I need to setup in my BYO device now?

It should -just work- but this sounds like you've been brought over to the Vocus platform.

You can use DHCP / VLAN 10 now.

it does sound like you have been migrated between our backend systems, this works fine for 99.9% of people. If you can PM me your username i can get the team to check to see what went wrong.

This happened to us yesterday afternoon. I had to change the authentication in the router to DHCP from PPPoE. It didn’t just keep working after they switched it over like I thought it was meant to. I’m not using a router supplied by 2degrees though so that could be the difference.

Im assuming everyone on the old Snap platform will eventually be moved over to Vocus platform using DHCP?

Hi all, thanks for the help! I am indeed an old Snap user and changing to DHCP fixed it for me.

Have DNS servers changed for migrated users? I'm in the same boat (received an email, internet "disappeared") and figured out that DNS wasn't working and 111.69.69.68 and .69 aren't pingable. I changed my DNS to 8.8.8.8 which seemed to work fine but while typing this.. I decided to chuck DNS settings on "auto" which also resolved it, not sure what my logic behind statically assigning those was lol. Strangely enough there's nowhere to view the received DNS servers in my router's GUI.

Edit: Google'd CLI commands and found 100.95.255.100 & 100.95.255.101, I don't think I'll be statically assigning them anywhere but figured I'd just pop it into my post for any other lurkers.

yeah always best if using ISP assigned DNS servers to leave to Auto, only statically configure them if you are pointing somewhere else like google or cloudflare

Same happened to me yesterday, which left my 6.30pm webinar after work a little stressful. Internet would connect then not connect.

Have an ASUS RT-AX86U router and had set to "2degrees" profile in settings but glad to have found this info.

Would have been nice to have in 2degrees email about account, to mention that settings may have changed for some of own router customers. At least then wouldn't have had to use mobile data for webinar and not spent an hour last night trying to fix this. Glad didn't call customer service as seems to be all running now.

:-)

younshould still log a ticket to say you had an issue and what you did to resolve it and how you are inconvenienced by the lack of info.  Fighting for fair works both ways.

sounds like the isp hasn’t provided some tips and tricks for its customers ahead of the switch and therefore they are still thinking everything is tickety boo and will continue to do so in the future for any further planned changes.

right now someones high fiving the success of the switch over.

So since switching over this morning my speeds have been lower all day (around 400mbps down where I usually get around 850) and tonight it's even worse, lucky to get 100 down and my ping to Google is around 220 rather than the usual ~34. Is this the new state of things?

I had the same problem on Thur after it changed over.

Reset up the login with these 2d settings and is now working ok.

Note no login or password used.

  • 802.1P (Priority): 0
  • IP Version: IPv4 or IPv6
  • MTU Size: 1492 or 1500

Have your speeds improved? I was also cutover last week and have not seen close to advertised speeds since. I'm on 300mbps, but lucky to see 120ish wired.  It was never an issue previously.

Will get in contact with 2degrees.

Would be good for 2degrees to put a note out as said by others.  I'm running my own setup having ditched the original fritzbox I got with Snap! in 2010 for a UDM pro and given that 2degrees cannot remote in to the router like they can with their supplied routers, knowing in advance would ensure that I can switch over as I could be working from home etc. when a change over happens.

Nope, still maxing around 400 off peak, 150ish peak. Latency still rising at peak time as well. I will also be contacting them if it doesn't improve over the next work day or so.

Same here, though I joined Snap and never got the fritzbox at all, from day one was my own hardware which has been upgraded and replaced many times until my current PFSense set up, and I also would have issues as I only work from home 2 days a week but have other people working from home on the 3 days I work in the office.
