Hi all,

Have just switched across from Vodafone / One NZ to 2 Degrees for home broadband fibre.

I declined the Orbi modem as we have 4 Deco X20 units across our house.

Am I right in the understanding I can keep using these after the switch over to 2 degrees.

We do not use any Vodafone modem etc, just have the first Deco patched straight into the ONT output.

All sound ok?

Thanks.

Yes

If you've already done the 24 month term with the super wifi promo they're yours to keep for free.
However if you've disconnected the broadband just short then the remaining balance would need to be paid out of the ETCs for them

If you don't see the time remaining in the last One NZ bill then they're yours at no cost.

Should work no problems,

It should just switch over, You should have no settings to change as a bonus,

As they now both use the same settings, with 2degrees coming over to IP/DHCP protocol.

Thanks team,

Yeah got two of them from Vodafone but no mention of them in the recent bills.
Think we cleared them ages ago and added another two recently ourselves separately / not through Vodafone.

All good if no config required etc, so hopefully a simple cut over next week.
Supposedly same speed as previous plan, just significantly cheaper ;)

All done, appears to be working today.

Reminder to others that you'll need to account for the 30day notice period Vodafone/One NZ require when closing your account/service.

Will check speeds/connectivity tonight but reports are that it's all going well so far.

My understanding is the 30 day notice is no longer the case.

I recently helped a mate who went to the TDR against a large ISP and they advised they no longer charge it due to a ruling and government policy changes.

If the customer is cancelling and is out of contact then they pay up until cancelation. (unless they are in contract then a break fee will apply)

I was pleasantly surprised about this response from the ISP via TDR
