Migrated to a new eSim today on a new phone and was told it takes about two hours for the eSim to work.

Just very curious on why it takes about two hours for the eSim to be activated? Does all the local mobile towers needs to be updated with the new eSim (look up table?)

Mine was pretty much instantaneous, from memory.

Yes, from memory - the previous eSim on the previous phone was instant. 🤷‍♂️

Both my Spark and One eSIMs were activated instantaneously - maybe a few seconds but definitely not in the range of hours.

Both setup via QR code, what was your method of setup?

Replacement phone, so replacing an old eSIM into a new phone.

Scanned using QR.

Was this via the iPhone or from a QR code emailed etc to you by your provider?

You can indeed!

But if you think about it how are you able to scan it into the phone without printing it or sending it to another device?

My One eSIM was done in store too but they sent it via email, I had to email the store with the code and scanned it off their monitor LOL

Hmm so very annoying. eSIM still not active and called 2degrees, waited for 40 minutes only to be told that the eSIM wasn't done properly and I need to drive 30 mins back to the store.

😡

*EDIT* After about six hours it got activated. Apparently the queue is around 5-6 hours rather than 2 hours.
