Hi, anyone know any reason that Twitter/X verification SMS is not coming through to my 2degrees cell?

Edit, added] I get the error message "Sorry, please make sure you entered a valid phone number. We cannot send a text message to this phone number because its operator is not supported"

Cheers

The reason is in the error message you posted

Exept, the mobile number was used to create the account on the 2degrees network, so neither reason is valid (I think), unfortunately I go round in circles on X/Twitter's help system ๐Ÿ˜€

SMS did work on 2degrees then they stopped support and they stopped working

If you use Google Messages check the spam. I've had that problem before with some "service" numbers.

Isnt RCS just a way to send/receive messages?

I mean the app Google Messages. It has a Spam folder and it silently files SMS into there it thinks is junk. As an example; on 2d the Data Piñata verification code was going there for me.

What do you mean when you say "verification"?

Is this a 2FA? If yes, it's only available for paid users now.

Otherwise there's no reason to have your number on X/Twitter. It's just more personal information you give to them.

To me this indicate something to take to X/Twitter, not 2degrees.

I lost my decade old Twitter account for the same reason.  They forced me to reset my password as the old one was 'insecure' but wouldn't let me reset it because the SMS wouldn't come through. Logging a ticket with support just got me a canned "you need to reset your password" email.

In hindsight it's probably a good thing, Twitter at the moment is just a cesspool of anti-vax, anti-Mฤori, conspiracy nonsense.

I've deleted my Twitter account, alongside the Geekzone accounts. No need to use that service.
