Got notification that from August the $10/mth prepay plan will be $13/mth.

I can accept a nominal increase, even 10% in today's climate, but 30% is quite the rip off really. I'm sure there will be a "we haven't raised prices in x years blah blah" excuse.

That is a little bit annoying, as I have 3 family members on that, then data sharing from my plan.

However, there looks to be a new $8 a moth prepay plan:
- 150MB carryover data
- Unlimited texts to NZ & OZ
- Unlimited calls to 2Degrees numbers
- 100 carryover minutes to NZ & Oz

Then the $13 a month prepay plan:
- 600MB carryover data
- Unlimited texts to NZ & Oz
- Unlimited calls to 2Degrees numbers
- 100 carryover minutes to NZ & Oz
- Free data hour a day

Both have free voice mail and hotspotting included

@nzkc You left out detail such as data is increasing from 250MB to 600MB and they now offer a $8 monthly prepay plan

I'm in the same situation, work from home so really dont need 600mb a month, I've got 3GB carried over and don't even use that.

Does anyone know if your minutes transfer over to a new prepay plan?  (looking at going from the $10 to the new $8 plan)

I know data transfers over, but cant find anything about minutes.

cheers,

In the past the answer has definitely been a yes. But I'd check the Ts & Cs since they've changed things up.

Great,

Thanks for the quick reply, yes I guessed that would probably be the case.

Cheers,

You lose the hour of free data though which is pretty popular with the kids

Oh cool, thanks, I will do that then. Did you cancel the $10 plan then immediately start the $8 plan, or do you get the $8 plan and then cancel the $10??

@Stu1,   yes I saw the 1 hour was gone, I used that very infrequently. I'll probably swap back to the $13 plan if my data gets low, and then back to the $8 once its 2GB+ or so.

Does not matter how you do it! You still get to keep unused minutes / data

Create a $13 plan with those options then. This is nothing but a price increase by stealth for those people who don't check.

Definitely pros and cons on the plan, it’s an extra 6 bucks a month for the kids as they use the free hour on the way home or to school. There is a skinny plan which is $9 per month 250mb , 100 mins and unlimited texts . The site says hotspot is available on all plans as well .

Except there are ways for a carrier to block it if they wished. You will find some carriers also have a separate limit on hotspot data.
