Was on the gaming plan with MyRepublic, which came with a Static IP until they moved to 2 Degrees, not sure what really changes in the background but the plan is still on a Static IP. Is this needed? Does it help a little?

Unless you're hosting your own servers, no. Even then, probably not.

As @behodar says no, unless you are hosting, and then really, only if you are hosting locally to players in NZ, but even then relatively marginal. 

 

I wouldn't bother.
