Hi guys,

We have a small business and we use a 2degrees connection as a primary phone line.

We would like a 09 number, so our customers can call us and it would divert to our 2degrees connection during business hours and go to voicemail outside business hours.

Is this possible?

Yes, it's called Landline On Your Mobile. It is one-way though - you can only call to it, not from it.

iPad Pro 11" + iPhone 15 Pro Max + 2degrees 4tw!

These comments are my own and do not represent the opinions of 2degrees.

Can we get it from another provider? That service above is not available on Prepay phones and she's on a $20 prepay plan.

There's nothing stopping you from getting a SIP geo-number from any provider and forwarding it wherever you want. But it'll cost you one way or the other - nobody will do it for free I'm afraid.

What so you do for a data connection?,

Plenty of options to have a 09 number go to SIP/VOIP and handle it as a software phone, or IRL via an ATA and a handset...

I've used Hero for something similar (a landline with an IVR that forwards to various mobile numbers). Really simple - ported the landline over to Hero, set up the call rules (easy to use GUI). You may need to check if it supports voicemail. Costs $10+ GST/month for the phone number and 300 minutes. When it was setup originally, it was cheaper than using other services like Spark's Cloud Phone for our use-case (not sure if it's still cheaper).

I also have a 2degrees connection that has over 100GB that I share with her.

My spouse had 2 degrees landline to mobile for a few years.

Its a free service with any of their business plans (+$20 / Mo on consumer plans).

Worked well, but she couldn't tell which number incoming calls were coming from, let alone set up filtering rules. She pretty promptly got a separate personal phone, so she could turn off the work phone after hours (but this was needed regardless due to the volume of clients calling her mobile number, so required regardless of the landline thing.

You can absolutely do this, we had a mobile with an 09 number. Under OneNZ at least. The 09 number was associated with the SIM. No diverts etc.

You're not on Atlantis anymore, Duncan Idaho.

Can also likely do an 0800 number for much the same pricing as the 09 number, if that's desirable.
