Anyone know if it's possible to get PS5 streaming to work via a 2Degrees cellular connection, or is that going to be outside the terms of service?

I can stream remotely via WiFi so the server-side isn't a problem, but over cellular it won't connect, I'm assuming this is deliberate due to the odd ports in use?

If you suspect it to be something to do with CGNAT you can try changing your APN to 'direct' instead of 'internet'.

Does that work with 2degrees?

I've got a static IP so should take CGNAT out of the equation. I would've thought CGNAT would remain an issue even with the client device on WiFi anyway.

But you said 'cellular'. You don't have a static IP on cellular.

Think there may be some terminology confusion here.....

@stevenz Maybe I misunderstand what you’re trying to do but do you mean “is it possible to connect a PS5 to the internet using a mobile phone hotspot?”

I just found this which indicates that it’s totally possible. I just checked on my PS5 and found my 2d hotspot coming via iPhone. I didn’t go through and connected to it but, based on the linked website, I’m sure I could have.

I think the issue @stevenz is running into is that his home connection is behind CG-NAT, which likely won't work. If you have a public IP and UPnP enabled, or the relevant ports forwarded correctly, you should have no issues. I've dabbled with it a year or so ago from both my Series X and PS5.

Anything I say is the ramblings of an ill informed, opinionated so-and-so, and not representative of any of my past, present or future employers, and is also probably best disregarded.

Issue resolved by changing cellular APN to "direct" instead of "internet", as per approved answer.

The issue was trying to access a PS5 remotely using the native "Remote Play" function from a home connection with a static IP, to a mobile device.

Thanks.
