Yes as per the prepaid terms and conditions on the 2degrees website and it is 30 days

Please do not leave it to the last day and then moan your 2degrees mobile number has expired

Set a calendar reminder topup well in advance $20

Got it bro, but i have two more questions

1, if my last top up is on 11:00am, 9th Sep 2025, does it mean i need to top up again before 23:59pm, 9th Sep 2026 to keep the number active, as 2degrees is based on days but not hours

2, like 1, my last top up is on 9th Sep 2025, and i have $10 credit on my prepaid account when 8th Sep comes, if i use the credit to subscribe a international chat pack, which last for one month, does it mean my number will still be active to use during the 8th Sep to 8th Oct without top up, thank you

@OvhGmx Do not be an egg! topup $20 before it reaches 365 days from last topup

Credit will expire 365 days from last topup and then the grace period of 30 days starts before the number will expire, If you toup before the 365 days then you will keep the existing credit

Subscribing to international chat pack or any other add-on will not change the prepaid account expiry date!

Its not like this information is covered on the 2degrees website or anything!

Mine was cut off sometime between the 6th of october and the start of november. No SMS warning at all and the sim has been in and active as a second one in a phone all the time, Last topup was have been the start of october 2024.

They managed to sms me on oct 29th about 3g shutdown so the sim was still working then but no idea on if it was still accepting normal sms and calls at that point.

Anyway, first trip to a store to reactivate it was hopeless with the guy fobbing off to email support about it. emailed them and they wanted loads of details about past usage and SMSs etc and then said to go to a store to show ID, which I did and the second person was really helpful, but I don't know if the support people did something to make it work or if the first guy was just lazy.

Anyway, No SMS warning was really crap of them to stop doing for no reason.

@richms You should get an SMS alert before a prepaid number is deactivated @SaltyNZ are reminder SMS still sent out to prepaid connections before credit expirry / prepaid connection deactivation?

Would be good if these are displayed in the 2degrees App

I think you get one when credit is expired but not before. Won't be a pre-warning when account is expiring either.

Yes you should, and I did not. The app was also not telling me anything about expiration as would be very easy for it do to as it knows that information and what day it is.

Here is what I have from the 2degrees shortcode on this sim.

The bottom one has my number and there is one after it from the $20 that I put on when I got it reactivated in the store from the second visit where they were helpful.

As I topped it up in 2024 after that one, bought a pack and cancelled the renewal of it the next day that is when the 12 months would have started from. All I got this year was the 3g one. So as they sent a warning in 2024, and none in 2025 then something has changed. And with the store rep not questioning me when I told them I got no warning about it, I think its a known thing they are doing.
