Two of my customers have switched to 2Deg for broadband/landline recently. One has been waiting 4 weeks for the landline to be ported over, and the other’s was a right ballsup! They could dial out only to mobile numbers, so I called my mob and the caller ID was not only the wrong number, but in a different area code! WTH? Why is this so difficult in 2025? I guess I’ll be calling the helldesk again at the end of this week for more BS. (They’re both elderly with hearing issues)

Pinging @chrisvp

This should be simple and straight forward, but sounds like the providers haven't updated their routing tables or some other issue

Hi Zigg.

I am sorry to hear your customers have had bad experiences.

could you forward me the account numbers and phone numbers they are expecting to have with a breaf description of the issue each one is having, Yes @nztim I will forward them internaly to @chrisvp.

the presented number is the number they are using at the time of the call so their old number at the moment has not been attached to the line they are using.

Possibily the user told the loosing/old telco that they were leaving before the transfer was done so the loosing telco relinquished the number (took it off the account) before it could be ported to 2degrees

Regarding the different area code if the calling areas are different you must prefix the areacode. so 09 -> 07 or 07 HAM -> 07 Tauranga must all have areacode prefixed to ther call. The user will be able to call you on your land line but if they are different Local Calling Areas (such at Hamilton and Tauranga) even if they are the same area code (07) the call will be blocked without the area code. So 079744xxx (Hamilton) can call 079296yyy(Tauranga) but not 9296yyy because the calling areas do not match.

I hope this info helps.
