I load a page on a website I own, then a few minutes later I get a hit to that same page from 202.180.81.52, a callplus IP address.  Can someone from Slingshot explain why this is happening?  Surely you can just spy on me / cache files directly?

What's your webpage dude?
Maybe your webpage is hosted by Slingshot?
Maybe your computer has Slingshot DNS cache on?

You will need to give more details........before somebody can solve your problemo :)

it's not really a problem so much as a curiosity. page is not hosted by Slingshot. i don't know that much about dns but i get the impression dns deals in resolving names to addresses, not following me round the net with full path GETs.

Slingshot. Guess I just would like to know if this is common practice for an ISP.

My guess is a transparent proxy and as soon as you try to access the site Slingshot tries to cache it.

I am guessing that the time / clock on the server is about 5 mins out from the clock on your computer. Your page loading would be causing the log in the entry from slingshot but its logged as 5 mins late because the clock on the web server could be 5 mins late.

Look at the RDNS on that IP. It's not a regular allocated-to-customer IP.
