Anyone else on Orconet network noticing Google is responding rather slowly if at all the last few days ? Or am I the lucky one ?
Everything else is fine except anything to do with Google.

Do you mean the search itself is slow or the result page is slow to load?

http://www.google.co.nz/search?hl=en&q=orcon
Search the web ---> Results 1 - 10 of about 252,000 for orcon. (0.13 seconds)

Page loads quickly - probably less than 0.5 second and certainly quicker than loading a page from geekzone.
Does it make a difference if the search result page includes a lot of images?

Edit: just to clarify - yes, I'm on an Orcon LLU connection.

Everything (Google search, gmail, maps) was running like a dog for a couple of days for me... seems to be better now.
