From reading other posts it seems clear that 2 degrees won't have 3g at launch, my question is how does that effect those of us who live outside of the 3 big centres and have to use Vodafone Coverage where they have 900/2100mhz 3g?

i.e if I put a 2 degrees sim into my phone and it attempts to connect to the VF 3g network, will it be rejected and pushed onto GSM mode?
Would seem odd to have to travel outside of the 3 big centers just to get 3g initially

Only very limited 3G in the main 3 centres at launch, January will see 3G everywhere on 2degrees and when roaming on Vodafone.

So at first only 2G and 2G Vodafone roaming, once 2d launches 3G then 3G Vodafone roaming. Is this a correct statement?

Nearly . . .

At launch, 3G on a few 2degrees sites, 2G on the rest and 2G on all Vodafone roaming.

January, 3G on all 2degrees and Vodafone sites

yeah that is what I am trying to determine here, seem strange to only have 2G coverage in the big 3 initially but if you travel far enough to need to roam on Vodafone then you suddenly have 3g?

Where I live all the new Vodafone coverage seems to be 3G (except were my house is - that's another story). 2d needs to get the 3G roaming thing happening or I will be hit with very poor service and coverage.Like a step back in time 5 years...

As above, no, only 2G Vodafone roaming.

How many 900mhz towers are they going to use? I won't be taking my iPhone accross to 2 degrees unless I can get consistant 3g
