A German friend was recently roaming on 2Degrees in Christchurch along with his father and found the call quality to be terrible. They both noticed calls dropping frequently and very low volume. This was in central city.
Not a very good sign.

Can anybody else report on their experiences roaming on 2Degrees, if you've been able to?

jermsie: Can anybody else report on their experiences roaming on 2Degrees, if you've been able to?

I can't comment on Christchurch, but I've been roaming on 2Degrees in Auckland for most trips since Sept/Oct last year.  They have steadily improved coverage and fixed some minor bugs that I've noticed (e.g. certain outgoing calls would fail, such as to 083x numbers).

I haven't noticed any particular call quality problems and no dropped calls.

What I have noticed - and it's been persistent for a long time - is that SMSs sent to me from Vodafone NZ are not delivered when I am on the 2Degrees network.  I usually get them when I arrive in my next destination, or I hit a 2Degrees coverage hole and move onto Vodafone.

If you have any issues you should get hold of the guys in our customer support center just call 0800022022 and let them know where you are etc. The only way you are going to get things fixed is if you let us know.

Any posts are personal comments and not that of my employer

It defies belief why someone would complain about the Quality before the launch! Of course you wont get optimum performance from a network tha isn't techniclally "on" yet.
