I just got a "Thanks for joining up" email from 2degrees. Thing is, I haven't. I suspect someone just put in the wrong email address, but it seems a bit strange that there is no email verification step.

Meanwhile, if you know a Jarno Plenter (and as I don't, then according to 2 degrees one of you must Tongue out) please tell him to use his own email address.

Someone in your family/household perhaps? I know my kids have signed me up for stuff before...

If there's anyone other than me in my household, then that would explain some things, but raise a lot more questions such as "who are you and what are you doing in my house?".

I have rich@ a common ISP as an email address and I get craploads of stuff where people sign me up for it.

The lack of an opt in is troubling however.

You may have had a friend nominate you in a promotion that is going whereby you sign up and nominate 5 friends giving them their 5 friends email addresses as per this URL http://www.thealist.co.nz/be-win-hot-samsung-phone-100-credit and all 5 could win a new Samsung phone loaded with $100.00 credit
