Very very very very very optimistic.

I'm picking 49c / min calling possibly with a tiered scale for usage. I'd expect data pricing to be identical to what VF and Telecom offer.

I'm guessing that there will be a 10% reduction on the equivalent cost of VF/TCM.

$2/GB would love to see it but it won't happen.

I would say around 5-10% below equivalent Telecom and Voda pricing, with a few special thingys that neither offer.

Even a higher data allowance for the current pricing would be good.

How long will it take Vodafone to drop their pants? I'll give them 1 week.

I dont think they will be that quick to react. Before xmas there should be some new deals on the table, with a long term and high break costs from both telcos IMO.

I had an interesting conversation with a friend of mine at a pub yesterday, and found out that he was one of the engineers responsible for the cell site rollout.

According to him, data on 2degrees network during their testing was really, really impressive (real-time video and all, apparently). He did point out, though, that the network had no load at all. He also reckons that MTRs are where the real issue lies for 2degrees.

All in all, I'm quite interested in 2degrees, even if data plans are exactly the same as VF for starters. I do wish they could press everyone to lower their margins, though.
