2Degrees CEO Eric Hertz:

Nokia 1202: $79
Samsung Crest E1100T: $99
Nokia 5030: $129
Nokia 2700: $249
Nokia E63: $649

Confirmed $0.44 per minute to other mobile networks. Also confirmed $0.09 per SMS.

2Degrees starts with Prepay offering only because 75% of local market is Prepay. It will offer free GST receipts and online statements.

The $0.44 per minute is also valid for 21 countries.

Instant rewards for topups - "Magic Topups" Topping up within 30 days and you get free stuff: $20 gives 100 SMS credits. Topups are valid for 365 days.

$0.22 per minute from 2Degrees to 2Degrees mobile, or to any landline. Billing is always per minute - there's no per second billing.

No data plans at launch, but the network is data capable - new plans coming in the future. At the moment any data usage is charged as casual at $0.50/MB.

Confirmed that 2Degrees offer EDGE mobile data from start - think of it as 2.75G...

All accounts are enabled for roaming from the start.

Unfortunately many at work won't have access to Facebook (good ol' IT restrictions!  Sealed).  Anyway, I will be at the ready on my N97.

With the 9c texting you can only send approx 111 texts for $10 dollars. Not any cheaper for the VF texters so far. Anxious for 9am :)

DjShadow: Heck, if these rates are confirmed which by the looks it will, thats a big step forward and enough to make people move

Although it depends entirely on what that rate compares directly to.

If it is on-net, anytime,  then it compares very favourably to XT and Voda which is around the 89c/m mark.

If, however, it has different terms on it, such as off-peak, or only on-net, or only on an expensive plan,  then it is not so faqvourable.  We'll see very soon I imagine :D

ETA:   I see from twitter that the price on-net and to landlines will be 22c.  very competitive.  This also means that the 44c/m must be offnet (and we also know tnow that it is prepaid).    very agressive pricing.
