Got a nokia 1100 that I am using for 2degrees at the moment - but if I unlock it and start to dial a number, it will then disappear and go back to the screen with the 2degrees name in it.

Never happened with the vodafone sim in it that I can recall and its done it 4 times to me today already. Quite annoying when you are halfway thru dialing a number and not watching and end up making a call with just the last few digits because you are not watching.

It is likely that the signal has dropped so the phone clears the screen. It is unlikely to be related to the SIM, just how the phone handles loss of signal.

Don't worry, its working now, but it wasn't working all this morning. I'm pretty sure its something to do with 2degrees' tower because this never happened on vodafone

Funny, yesterday my Windows Mobile phone locked up in East Auckland. Could not connect to the network and SPB Shell does not tell you. It worked after I disabled and re-enabled the GSM module. Never happened before and thought it was the phone (Glofiish X610). Might be related to your problem, perhaps they were doing something on the network?

So far its been full, or almost full everywhere around my house. I get full converage in my room, when I usually don't get any vodafone coverage. So yea, its been excellent so far :)

I have had it show full on both a N97 and a 1100 and still have patchy audio particually for the other end of the call. Cell site location says beach haven so its clearly a nearby site too.

I tried plugging a new 2? SIM into a Nokia 3315 tonight. It showed the cell tower (NZ 24) and the network (2 degrees), but when you tried to call out (200 to activate sim) I got 3 beeps, followed by disconnect and back to "home"

Tried the sim in the a Nokia 6234 and it worked just fine.

Helpdesk guy said they had report that some older Sony Ericssons exhibited same problem, and they'd add the 3310/3315 to the catalog of no go.

What sort of SIM was yours?  Mine was one of the $2 ones but that shouldn't have made a difference.

Phone was showing 4 bars so it's not a signal drop-out issue.

I think it clears the display to change the cellsite name - have turned that off and its not happened again that I have seen.

I'm having the same issue. Just got my 2degrees card, poped it to my mobile and everytime I call 200, I get disconnected. Phoned 2degrees they told me to get a replacement card from Warehouse stationary
