i have a Samsung W531 in using on GSM mode with a 2 degrees sim.  when i try to do the *100# thing it comes up with the menu but then i push 1 and ok then it just goes back to my phones main screen and freezes my phone.

AND also i texted bal to 200 to get my balance because the other way doesn't work, and i got this really weard txt back: thanks for your code. when your crew hits 22, you're in. so give them a nudge cos only the first 22 crews get free SIMs and credit. we'll be in touch mon.

??? *confused*

I got the same text, haha, I don't think they have a txt for your balance type service. I guess when the website finally gets back up and running this might be the only way to check your balance.

i didn't know 2degrees supported txt balance requests, you are probably sending to some premium SMS provider

2degrees USSD codes
*100# USSD menu
*100#1# get balance
*100#2#VOUCHERNUM# recharge

2degrees short codes
200 customer services
201 recharge
202 voicemail

just because Vodafone have it doesn't mean 2degrees, Telecom, B&W, etc will have it :)

As above you need to call *100#1# to get your balance. You do not text that number.

i actually like this idea to be honest.. makes topping up etc easy-peasy.

wish other telco's would use service commands.. then i wouldnt haveto deal with IVR's etc (and dont get me started on Vodafones txt topup)

i know thats off-topic, but just thought i'd say so..

Stick it on a fast (speed) dial - get your balance in about 2 secs

It's not a voice call you are making. Using USSD is just like a SMS.
