orcon's DNS doesn't seem to have updated yet. edited my hosts file to add the ip manually (174.129.201.54) and works fine.

This suggests that Your 2Degrees will not be up until at least next week, or else they would not have bothered making this available on a Thursday. So don't hold your breath for selecting your own number.

Just got a TXT to top-up soon and referred to My 2Degrees, but I can't check my usage on-line...

For those who have successfully filled out the form, how long is your SIM card number? The number on my SIM is 18 digits long and the form keeps rejecting it for being too long :/

they probably want the phone number that came on the sim, it should be printed on the sim pack

Had another look, seems to be on the 'current provider' section of the form so I have sent them the SIM number on my Vodafone SIM card, which is shorter.

Yep. That's how I read it. Enter your VF SIM card number.

Also note: I received the text with my temp password on my 022 number. But I received the follow up call from 2 degrees on my existing 021 number - actually I missed that call since my phone had my new 2degrees SIM in it DOH!

If you have two phones, stick a SIM in each and keep them both on you.
