I want to transfer my vodafone number over but.. when i enter my sim2 voda number i get a message saying it should be 14 digits.. my voda has 2 rows of 6 numbers on it.  What are the magical other two digits?

My SIM card number is the following (i leave some blanks):
04**19
400**2

Fred your subject title says 16 yet now you’re asking for 14? Can you confirm?

If you’re SIM has 12 digits the other 4 would be 6401 and then your 12 digits totalling 16.

Johnr can you confirm?

If you where porting from Voda to Telecom only the last 12 digits are required. I wonder why 2D has a different rule for validation?

14.. 16.. I forget. lack of sleep... because of kids... not because of partying.

It was more than my old SIM had I know that.

I will try the prefix given above. Thank you nzbnw, bill.

Well, I tried with the prefix but.. I got a 'there has been a problem' rather than the 'your sim number is not correct'. I called the 0800 number offered and spoke to a well spoken customer services rep. very nice chap for 7:15am on a Sunday morning!

He tried his side, i gave up my password and SIM, and voda number, for him to try his end. The website did the same for him so he got console onto some system and did it 'manually'. He gave me a reference and stated that it will take 1 business day.

He also said my password has been reset and I will receive a text with the random reset password which he does not know. I'm not sure which SIM will get the text... my voda SIM is stillr eceiving calls *handy since I am ON CALL for a few enterprises*

All very professional and I expect it is going to work.

Now.. I can have my vodafone number, but be on 2degrees, I will get a few dollars bonus for signing over *i think i had 10.. maybe more credit on my old sim but I'm surely going to save that quickly with 2degrees, and when i top up next I get more than a months worth of texting for free! ANDDDD I can get texts notifying me of when the next number range opens.. as I have a number I SOOOO want to get.

Much thanks.
