Tried ringing Orcon helpdesk since just after 8am this morning, from my landline and cellphone, to there 0800 13 14 15 number and there local number 09 444 4414, just beep beep beep...

Yet there business support line rings?

Not only is orcon's helpdesk so bad, takes around 30 mins to speak to someone, I can't even ring to be put on hold now... or is there so many people put on hold that there phone system can't take any more callers?

Umm yeah, Im having same issue and my homeline has gone down as well. WTF is going on orcon ?
Sitting on hold with corp support now and hopefully someone there will pickup.........

Hmm turns out I can call into my home line, but calling out gives a message "your call cannot be placed right now".

Hi guys,

A couple of times this morning we maxed out our available lines into the call centre. This was due to our highest call volume peak ever, which coincides with this months billing run. Seems to have subsided now, so you should be able to get through now. We will do our best to ensure that it doesn't happen again in future.

There is also a new class of support staff currently in training who will be hitting the phones over the coming few weeks, so that should help bring the wait times back to their usual short length.

Our apologies for any inconvenience in the mean time.

Might be an idea to get someone to put such problems on the Orcon network status page as well when it occurs :)

Now... to find out why my wife cant make calls from home....

Looks like 1) Orcon still having major issues or 2) Major issues with my line only.

Got home, tried calling my folks - engaged - tried calling my mobile - "Call cannot be placed at this time" - Call orcon - "Im sorry, were overloaded".

How am i meant to pay my bill ? :)

Maybe it's the leaflet drop (free night at a hotel if you sign up) putting pressure on the call centre.

Yeah, and then they'll sic the debt collectors on you!

I've got an overbilling issue with Orcon but they don't reply to any support tickets month after month, and continue to overbll, month after month.

Theyve supposedlly blocked me now (after finally getting through to them) and wont unblock me until the full amount is paid - umm...I dont think so. Considering the last bill only just got sent out 2 days ago, Im not paying the full amount - Ill pay the outstanding but thats it until next week.

What is their block suppose to do anyway ? I can still make calls inc tolls, browse internet etc..... :-/ (Probably shooting myself in the foot now)
