While at Sylvia Park, Auckland today, towards the middle of the mall, there was a HUGE 2degrees stand which didnt seem to be run by any other company (like how dse sells 2degrees stuff), have anymore of these been popping up lately? and someone correct me if this isnt a 2degrees owned shop or display (what ever you want to call it). Also next time someone goes to sylvia park, take a pic to show the rest of the people here, some of you who read my other post about my camera not working on my phone, know why i didnt take one, because the USB hasnt arived!

I guess it's a quick and cheap way to have a visible presence in a mall. May expect to see more in other shopping centres.

They've got one at Northlands mall, Christchurch.  I'd hardly call it "huge" but it has 2 people and a couple of displays and stuff.  You know those annoying stands where people try to hawk hand cream?  It's about the same size.  Oh by the way, if you do go past one of those hand cream places and they say "I have a question for you", ask them what the difference between a cream and a lotion is.  That usually stumps them, allowing you time for a getaway.

It's quite common in U.S. malls and shopping centres to have those small stalls for mobile operators. I remember seeing quite a few for AT&T and Sprint.

I'm pretty sure it's not a 2Degrees owned store - when we went on a tour of the premises and server room, we were told that 2Degrees were not interested in marketing their product directly to the end consumer - they would instead do it through third parties (such as supermarkets, dairies, gas stations etc).

They could've changed this, so I may be wrong.

It's certainly us. We have three sites across the country and they will be open for a short period of time:

* Sylvia Park, Auckland: 24 August to 4 October

* Northlands, Christchurch: 24 August to 4 October

* North City, Wellington: 7 September to 4 October

At the kiosks we are selling:

* $2 SIMs

* Our core range of 9 handsets

* Top-up vouchers

As the team on the stand can't access our internal customer portal they won't be able to help with customer support queries, but if you'd like to pop down and have a chat with them or just have a general nosey they can help you with the basics such as porting, top-up, getting your balance, using Your 2degrees and changing your number.

Here are a couple of pictures:

Cheers!

Never ask what sort of computer a guy drives. If he's a Mac user, he'll tell you. If not, why embarrass him?
