Today we have just come back from a lengthy trip overseas and are dead keen to give 2d a try so went to the local Countdown supermarket to buy a couple of SIMs.  Sorry, we are out of stock they said.  Just got a whole lot more the other day and they have gone already.  Everyone else around this area is out of stock too.

So, I tried the next nearest supermarket which happened to be a Foodtown.  Sure enough, they were out of stock there too.

Hopefully, someone at 2d is reading this and can help to remedy the situation.  PM me if you want the locations of the supermarkets in question.

Fortunately, my nearest DSE branch had stock, although not many by the look of it.

SIM cards are now installed and working in my wife's mobile phone as well as mine.  We can make and receive calls, and TXTs are working.  I had a simple question, so I called Customer Services and spoke to a real person within seconds as promised.  Better yet, he answered my question immediately.  Couldn't be happier at this stage.

Our plan is to trial the service for a few weeks, and if we are still happy, we will burn our bridges with Vodafone and port both numbers across.  After 11 years, I have got fed up with paying 89c per minute on prepay so it's time to give them the flick.  More power to 2degrees!

There are major supply issues. 2degrees have sold far more SIM's than they seem to be able to supply. I know plenty of Foodstuffs stores that have had none for upwards of 3 weeks.

I have one with $5 on it if anyone wants to buy one :)
I just had to resign with Vodafone so won't be using 2degrees.

I was on the hunt for a 2d sim card today. Shell in Northcote was sold out so i went to the dairy, they had also sold out. I then went ot BP and they told me they had been sold out for 3 weeks.

I then went all the way into DSE and they had 2 left in stock.... the guy said they were apparently getting more in stock tomorrow. He also said each DSE store got 3 boxes, while the petrolstations only get 1 at a time.

I wonder if it is a good idea to be selling the 2d sim cards in Supermarkets etc with the ad on TV where the guy eats the sim card???

Not sure if this helps but, I was talking to one of the blokes in the mall kiosks and he was saying they still have heaps of $2 Sim cards, thats here in Christchurch at Northlands Mall.
I assume 2degrees would be keeping their own kiosks pretty full up otherwise they wouldn't have much to sell.
