Just my observation on porting to 2D to Telecom (prob happens with others too).....

Wife was on Telecom Prepay (not post paid) - got her a 2D SIM and signed up on the site and went through the porting procedure.
2 weeks later, still waiting for confirmation it had been done - so I called 2D last week and got told that the wrong EMEI number had been used.
So tried again and gave the CSR the new reference... he said yep, in the system now, will call/txt to advise when it was completed.
Had no call or txt but found today that the number has been ported, for how long, who knows.

So 2D :
1) Why couldnt my wife been texted/called to indicate the wrong number was used ? (ie: "Porting failed" txt)
2) Where did the "Porting completed" text/call go ?

Wife was about to toss the 2D SIM in the bin this morning till I tried it :)

Anyway, minor issues, overall Im happy with 2D and the wife will be also when her $20 topup lasts at least twice as long as it did with Telecom :) (In regards to call/txt costs)

Hey there,

Thanks for the post and the pertinent questions.
Unfortunately we're unable to answer question 1 with out getting your wife's details so I can track our contact with her. If you want to PM her details we can look into it further.
You're absolutely right with question two. At times the notification message is not being sent in a timely fashion once the port has been successfully completed. We are hard at work on a fix for that.

Cheers!
