Since Monday when I dial a 022 number that worked on Sunday I now get the following message.  "We didn’t recognise the number you dialled.  Please check it and try again."  Any ideas why?  The phone might be flat and it might not have any credit on it but would that give me the above message?

I have tried dialling from my landline (Telecom) and my Vodafone cellphone. Get the same message either way. The number belongs to a relative. They only got the phone last week. They did go from Christchurch to Auckland on Monday morning when it started playing up.

True the user may have ported or changed their number if they changed there it will be saying the number don't exists which mean someone else can take that number...

Has the user ported a new number over?
Or have they even changed their 2D number?

I would also agree to contact the relative, if to no avail of a solution, contact 2D.

Give this a try:

Dial *001# from your mobile. Let us know how you go.

It appears that they have gone back to Aussie.  The strange thing is that they would not have disconnected the phone before going so I would have thought any calls would go throught to voicemail.

Dialling the *001# just gives me "request not completed".

This gives me a "Network problem" error on my phone.

The *001# service will only work when you are within 2degrees coverage. It will not work while roaming on Vodafone.

iPad Pro 11" + iPhone 15 Pro Max + 2degrees 4tw!

That explains that then.
