hi geekzoners! i am planning to move out of wellington in two months time... i am thinking of getting SNAP. i rang the helpline this afternoon and was told that i can get snap connected to my current house, and move the account to my new place later. now, i am planning to get snap for 2 months just to 'test drive' the ISP Tongue out before i actually move outside of wellington area. (i know the experience may differ due to distance from cabinet, exchange, wiring etc2)

my question is, if i were to order and sign up to the service via the online form tonight, the $69.95 (Naked-dsl A) price will put me in 12 month contracts or not? I dont quite understand the concept of disconnection fee of $99 or $199... will this apply to me since i will be using my own modem?

thanks

Seems quite simple to me, you do not pay anything to be connected, assuming nothing needs to be changed at your home, and you pay $99 + anything extra like rent to own a modem? if you disconnect withint 12 months.

At Snap we dont charge a connection fee on our broadband services. However, if you disconnect within 12 months you will be charged a $99 disconnection fee in addition to any hardware costs or charges credited as part of promotional offers.

You would need something from Snap, preferably in writing, to confirm that moving house and transferring services, is not deemed a disconnection.
