Hi, I'm on Orcon with a Linksys modem/router. Lately I'm finding that my connection keeps dropping, so I pull the ADSL line out of the back of the router, plug it back in, wait a few seconds (30+?) and it usually comes back on. I'm wondering if its anything to do with line noise?

Is that an ADSL2+ modem? I would expect you to get more than 6Mbit line sync with a 25db attenuation.

Could point to line fault. Might pay to do a line isolation test.

Yup its ADSL2+, I had issues when changing over to Orcon a while back and support suggested switching back to ADSL to compensate? not sure really.

How do we do a line isolation test?

BTW I have disconnected everything from all other telephone jacks so just the one with ADSL filter - cordless phone and internet.

WAGS and Orcon+ don't really work that well together :(

Do you have another modem you could try? If someone at Orcon has changed you to ADSL1, you should get changed back to ADSL2+ when you try the other modem.
