This has been happening for the past week. When 8-9pm hits, sites are barely loadable. Twitter takes a minute, Speedtest takes a few minutes, Facebook, a few minutes and Gmail can barely get past the loading screen.

This is really noticable and comes on at 8-9 and it all right when 12am ticks by.

Just wondering if anyone is having the same problems?

Living in Mount Roskill, Auckland. Orcon+

Speedtest to Dallas, TX

Edit: Before anyone says it's your router or line or computer, it's none of them. Internet is good outside these hours...

Are local speedtests (Auckland server) and downloads from local sources also slow when you're seeing poor international speeds?

I'm not really sure. NZDSL test says I'm getting ~4000kbps down and ~1000kbps up which is what I usually get, but NZ based sites are slower to load too, don't know if it's just a placebo

hi there,

I've just switched from woosh to orcon due to moving houses and the deals from orcon with no contract made me decide for them.

Now that I'm using it ... it's crap so far: I'm originally from overseas (europe), I can bearly browse sites from over there, downloading stuff from deviantart is nearly impossible... I haven't tried rapidshare yet

Is this a well known fact that orcon is cutting the international traffic down ??

Your ideas ...??

Cheers,
Thomas

I have noticed the slowdown over the last couple of days. Its just like pre September when I was about to leave and then they did the magical fix to make everything nice and fast again. Pitty that lasted about a month..

I've noticed a major slow down here in Wellington too. Trademe is worthless from about 7pm - 11pm and very few other sites load within 30 seconds to a minute. It's making me seriously consider moving ISP which is a pain as i have previously been quite happy with the performance.
