Has anyone been able to set up data for 2degrees on a BlackBerry 8707v?

I emailed 2degrees to ask for further information than what was on their site (http://www.2degreesmobile.co.nz/settings ) but simply got the website info repeated in reply!

I have tried getting the setting sent directly to my phone from the http://www.2degreesmobile.co.nz/settings page and have also tried the same using the 2degrees SIM Menu. I have also manually entered the APN "internet" to no avail.  The BlackBerry still says "Data Connection Refused". The phone is not locked to a network.

Any help would be appreciated

P.S. Yes I know 2degrees data is currently very expensive - I won't be using it much on this phone! I just want it set up should I need to use it at any time. My main data use is on a Vodafone Data plan. =)

2D do not have an agreement with RIM so the data connection refused is normal

if you have a Vodafone sim still what you can do is download opera using the Vodafone sim and then use the opera settings to access the internet. the issue is that the blackberry browser is hardcoded to use the blackberry.net APN and 2degrees doesn't have this setup as they don't have the blackberry service currently. using Opera you can choose to use the 2degrees or internet APN.

if you want you can download Opera Mini and install it using the blackberry desktop app. the URL for the opera download is http://www.opera.com/mini/download/blackberry/ or if that doesn't work just browse through the website and look under opera mini.

tried and tested to work!
