Anyone else with them having trouble connecting to their email account. Using outlook, and keeps popping up requesting my username and password, and it then says it can't connect.

Their mail service has been up and down since yesterday afternoon and appears to still be down this morning. Keep trying and you might get a window where you can grab your mail (like right now). Frustrating.

Actually Orcon took over Iserve, so it is all now owned by orcon. The company Iserve limited looks to be in liquidation according to the companies website, so  is no longer trading, but I guess that doesn't matter as Orcon now own it.

Emails being sent to my email account aren't coming through today, and webmail isn't working. I see they have now got a message on their homepage about the problems,

Also new emails are not coming through. I haven't had any new email since 10:30, but I know I have had other email sent to me since then.

iSERVE Email services have now been restored.

so what happened?

Yesterday afternoon there was some database corruption, affecting access to some email services and our hosting console. We took measures to preserve data and repair the database, this corrected the issues, however this morning the event re-occured, again this morning causing connection issues to all iSERVE hosting consoles ( and domain manager) and intermittent email connection issues.

We made the decision to migrate all database services to new hardware, investigating what the issue is would have taken up valuable "get it fixed time" Bringing up new servers and migrating the services to the new hardware, took a lot longer than expected, mainly due to the extent of the corruption, the services it involved and the size of those services.

We will now continue to investigate what has occurred so we can put measures in place to ensure this doesn't happen again.

Mail has been queued during this process, so will now start to be delivered.

I'm not able to login. Just get a pop up box, and it doesn't accept my password. Same with Webmail, so something still isn't working right.

We have noticed some customers experiencing some authentication errors and have the team on it at present to resolve

Mail has not been restored with the clients still asking for log in details and reporting connection errors - there is no info as to a resolution time on the announcements and what little info there was on the front page has gone. Very, very poor communication doesn't help situations like these.

Do you have any idea when this is going to be resolved - over 24 hours is not acceptable.

I would agree with adw, that the announcements weren't good. There should have been a timeline, showing the time that announcements were posted, as well as a direct link on the homepage highlighting the problems. Especially in 2010 when email is such a major part of businesses. I note that this announcement that has been posted on Geekzone hasn't been posted on the iserve anouncements page. The last announcement on there is from 10:30 this morning.

The Authentication error that you are seeing is not affecting all customers, I am sorry that you are still continuing to have issues.

The announcements page is also database driven, so we have been unable to post updates during the day to this page - we have instead been updating the main iSERVE page.  Of course when the database migration was complete, the posts from during the day on the iSERVE website were removed, and the announcements page only showed the last post prior to us removing access to MySQL - Our apologies for this now causing concern.

I personally don't have an ETA on the Auth error - but will endeavor to find out!

Agreed Robbyp - we are building the timeline of the announcements made today on the main website  - and this will be posted on our normal announcements page when time permits ( we are pretty busy resolving issues at present and this has to come a close second)
