How to add data bundles on Orcon account?

Where do I add on extra data to my plan ? Can it be done online or do i have to call Orcon ?
Only want it for one month.... the website dosent show any info about adding it...just says you can but not how.

Looked through my account details etc........

You can do this by just sigining up for the plan you want online (e.g. your existing plan + your new data plan). if you log in with your details it will upgrade your plan to include this data bundle.

This will upgrade it on an ongoing basis though - so you will need to remember to downgrade again.

Alternatively you could give the guys a call and they could schedule the upgrade & downgrade to happen.

Odd way of doing it but ok.... :)

And yeah, had to pay my bill anyway so called and spoke to a CSR who sorted it out for me :)

Thought it would have been easier to add it as an option in the accounts section along the lines of "Add data block".....

Oh while on the subject, how do I tell / see if the data block has been added ? Dont want to use it if it hasnt been applied ;)

Yeah, something we are going to work on making more intuitive.

You can check if it has been added by logging in to your account (My Orcon) - it will show you what your current plan is.

Looks like it hasnt gone through then....only showing 10gb plan. On the phone I go then.... :)

They cant do it in real time, and it doesnt go back once it is added. My sister found herself past the cap and having to wait to use it before more was added. Otherwise its charged at the shocker of an overage rate.

I recently added more data to mine, it was a day before the end of my biling cycle as I wanted to get it added for the next month. sadly i was charged for the additional datacap and my data over the cap from the previous month.

So i paid for 65gig only used 43gig but got charged for the additional 3gig over even tho it was under the 65gig cap,

I didnt mind so much it was only ~$10-$20

just make sure you get your timing right to aviod what happend to me

Any overage beyond your data cap is $2 per GB, which we think is pretty reasonable.

I got told that I could add another block of data allowance beyond what I had already added to my base plan when I re-signed in 2009 (ie, I have Purple with 1GB, added 50GB every month and this month I wanted another 25GB at $25 because I have some heavy downloading to do)

I rang to get this activated because I needed to download some MDSN items and its faster at home than work. At first I got told this was ok and then it wasn't applied because I still had GB to download. When I rang up to ok the move I got told that I could only add to the base plan, ie I could remove my 50GB add on and get a 100GB add on, but I couldn't keep my 50GB add on and add 25GB.

Can someone tell me whats correct?
I am confused and the CSR's seem to be as well.

You can only add one data pack per broadband connection, so the person that told you you would need to upgrade to a 100GB data pack was correct.

50GB is sometimes limiting, 100GB is just too much.

id still just settle for free national, then local video streaming services can happen etc ...

id absolutly love IPTV but untill no national caps its pointless
