Following on from this, I've had a great month with my Freemail address. Then over the weekend, bam! It's back to how it was a month ago...except now I'm getting crap ruthlessly, all day long...looking at the headers there's no pattern to it - but some of the e-mails have my address as well as several others in it...spammers getting stupid? Anyway I think I've had over 300 in the last couple of days - yet one of my other Freemail addresses has had 0.

Anyone else getting this? It can't just be me, surely.

So...I'm the only one receiving any spam at all? I find that a little hard to believe :(

Have you posted your email address online on any public website / forum?

Or maybe you signed up to a website with it who the admins have sold the database off,

No, and no. A lot of these e-mails aren't just addressed to me personally - there are at least 10 other @orcon addresses the message has been CCed to.

Headers indicate they are coming from different sources all over the world (unless the headers are being spoofed or something).

I should add, around 90% of this crap is for Viagra-type products, the rest seems to be for a "great Canadian pharmacy".

Some of the subjects do amuse me however - "get more spice in the bed" - should I open the sheets and pour some oregano in? "Great advice for the old bed" - are you going to give me a brand new one?? Awesome!! :)

The department of internal affairs handles email spam complaints, and is probably the best place to contact. I have been trying to get off a NZ companies mailing list, have emailed them several times but still get spammed. Have contacted the DIA and havn't received anything.

And it all seems to have just dropped off to basically nothing again. I hope this monthly spamming barrage doesn't become a regular thing.

Done that the DIA even came and interviewed me after this company sold my email address to another company after I sent them an email to stop spamming me

I get about 3000 spam emails on average a month, all of them either pr0n, Viagra or ways to spice up my bed, it's pretty random imo.

They just head into the spam filter.

An email provider with a decent anti spam system will filter out all these for you already.
