Anyone got an update on these. Can you use a roaming sim and access 3g data? The costs are killing me. Any update 2degrees. Don't say in the coming months heard that before..... about 2 months ago

This will be covered under a NDA so do not bother asking

When 2degrees are ready they will do a media release with a date

You can access 3G data using a roaming SIM but if you think 50c per MB for data is excessive now you'll be paying significantly more for roaming data!

Just wait. I'm sure they're doing their best to make sure it's an excellent service on launch (cheesy but probably true). I know I'd rather wait a bit longer for a network that can deliver.
Just a guess, but I think we'll see a 3G launch by August.

I have noticed for about a week my phone connects to 3g for 2-3 secs then drops connection which then I have to connect manuelly back to 2g. This is on an nexus one everytime its switched on.

My Phone has been doing this for months... Got rather annoying at times the 3G signal would overpower the 2G signal and my phone would end up with zero signal because it was not allowed to use 3G. (weird huh?!) So I switched it to GSM only...

Oh they did say second quarter... But is this of financial year or actual year?... May be financial, which means around August is about right. I predict late October for call plans too.

Whn you know you need data, why not switch in a Vodafone pre-pay SIM? It's only $30 to buy...and gets you through until 2Degrees 3G is ready.

Then sell the SIM on TradeMe or Sella if you don't need it any more.

Because I save more on calls and it balances out. Ive had a look @ the plans and Ill just break even.
