Torrents not moving, VNC disconnecting constantly, FTP flatlining at sub 100kB/sec and then dropping.

Youtube not keeping up on a 360p video.

The low performance on the connection isnt for me trying, have loads of torrents "running" with peer connections that dont move, FTP only just getting to 90kB/sec when I started it now, was 16 or so before in the evening.

The only time I am approching my low line speed is when the torrent comes in from the cache. Other times I may as well be on a 512k or lower plan since that is all I am getting!

Seeding isnt too bad, but really I dont care about that on public torrents and would rather not seed since it costs me.

So is there an undisclosed fault? Bandwidth provider down, DOS attack or something? Because this is worse than bigtime ever was. This isnt peak times, and its not the free offpeak so what gives?

Youtube has just started to buffer for everything now.

Its like slingshot over the last month or so are downsizing their international capacity, then adjusting their pritoritisation system and saying 'hey we just added bandwidth'

I got http://download.tvnz.co.nz/podcasts/tvnz7/media7_s4_e14_part1.mp4 at great speeds, national traffic.

Is coming down ok too, but that from Akamai

Hoping to watch Google IO day1 keynote later on http://googlecode.blogspot.com/2010/05/io-recap-open-web-moves-forward-froyo.html

I was on the phone to the helpdesk today and was told that the youtube cache was off, I hope they fix it soon.

And Torrents are going as normal for me, 60KBps (as well as 250kBps from Akamai, Torrent not in cache as it's got less than 30 peers.
I'm in the manawatu.
Saw a couple of speedtest.net from someone on the slingshot forums, they where getting better speeds connection to wellington than from auckland. So it could be an Auckland issue?
