I've got my DSL through Slingshot, and it's great. Until recently, there were no issues.

However, this last week I was unable to SSH to my home PC. All outgoing connections work fine. But incoming SSH is completely blocked.

When I got hold of support, they assured me this isn't the case.

Is anybody else experiencing this? (It's a bit of a deal-breaker for me, so no SSH == no Slingshot.)

I'm in the Waikato, if it matters.

Try moving ssh to a different port, ie port 2345..

Also check your firewall rules and your port forward setup..
I doubt slingshot would be blocking ssh and even less so on a random port..

Slingshot have updated their Network status page, http://www.slingshot.co.nz/NSMSummary.aspx

We are currently experiencing issues with the following services:

* International Data

In the following regions:

* Nationwide

Some customers may experience slower then normal download speeds from international sites. This is currently under investigation with our upstream providers.

Have you tried turning off the Slingshot cache via My Account settings?

... How is the (what im going to assume is) web cache going to affect incoming SSH sessions on port 22?

Either the router is harfed and stopped doing port forwarding or slingshot are blocking incoming connections on that (or any) ports..

If you want to PrivateMsg me your address I can do a tcptraceroute and see what device appears to be dropping the packets.

Audiophiles are such twits! They buy such pointless stuff: Gold plated cables, $2000 power cords. Idiots.

OOOHHHH HYPERFIBRE!

Hi guys,

Thanks for all your responses. As it turns out, my SSH port problem was due to my router being mis-configured.

Marking this one solved :)
