Whats going to happen with the iPhone 4 and 2degrees? Im concerned about the new sim card standard.. and also Im worried that vodafone might have exclusive rights with no prepay models available for a whle? I bought my 3g iphone for the full price 1 month before 2 degrees launched :) I was very happy about not being locked into a 2 year contract.

I can't answer the 2degrees question, but you'll still be able to buy the new phone outright directly from Apple, regardless of what Vodafone decide to do.

I'm pretty sure that the new iPhone will be available on prepay (handset only) from store.apple.co.nz just like the 3GS was. I don't believe we've heard anything from 2degrees about selling micro sim cars but with the release of the iPad, there's been a few guides floating about showing how to cut the regular sim to the size of a micro sim card. So you could always do that.

EDIT: Lol, beat me to it corksta.

Thanks or the reply. I will attempt to butcher some $2 sim cards and then port my number to the one that works successfully. :) assuming you're serious. lol

I didnt realise the iphones were for sale on the apple site. I only visited the apple store once to buy a mac mini.. I didnt notice anything else there. Whoops. I shall keep an eye on it now. Thanks guys. :)

People as too scared to try the butcher job... Could be a business in Cutting up sim cards and reselling them as a 'premium' micro sim.

A couple days ago someone posted on Twitter a small tool that you put your SIM card into, press down and it cuts it for you, sort of like an idiot proof hole punch.

Pity I can't find the link now :/
