Hi all,

A friend has just signed up with Slingshot & is having problems with the supplied

Dynalink modem (RTA 1320E).

When turned on, the dsl light is fine one minute and then flashing another.

So they brought the modem around to my place & tried it here,

Same thing happens here turn it on the dsl light comes on then starts flashing

Stops flashing (light on) then starts flashing again. I know my line is good.

Could it be crook modem (D.O.A)? Or maybe some setting that needs changing?

A General Broadband question

We are both with Slingshot  and since I have a spare modem/router, I tried to setup their  username & password on it & test it, but it wont connect (at least the dsl like stays on) Can this not be done? Even though we are both with Slingshot.

Thanks in advance for any help

John

I'd suggest a factory reset and a firmware upgrade - if that doesn't work, the unit is faulty.

You must have setup the username/password wrong when you tested with your modem, but your own modem should still work on their connection without changing the username. Does sound like theirs is faulty.

Time to find a new industry!

Their modem was crook.
Took my spare one round & connected it up with no problems.
So they are going to send it back & get a replacement.

Thanks for your help
