Well Ive asked this question over at the official slingshot forum and im not getting any reply so I thought I might ask here. I found out why my internet was going slow turns out our broadband plan had been changed from the next big thing #2 and dropped down to the beginners thing. so now I have to reswitch back to the next big thing #2 and here what I want to know. When I go to select an activation day there wasnt any days selectable all it said was "earliest available" so what does this mean? does this mean I cant upgrade back to the next big thing #2 or is it just I will be switched over when they get time sorta thing?

Are you sure you are on Beginners Thing and not one of their wholesale plans? If there was a cabinet installed in your area, they would have had to move you off their LLU plan and back to a UBS plan - they should have told you first though....

I just moved from Big Thing 2 to Big Thing 3 and this couldn't be done online, i had to call Slingshot up - they even told me I couldn't change plans myself for their LLU plans.

Also, you can only change plans with Slingshot on your next billing date.... you can't change half way through the month - the fact that you were given "earliest available" option makes me think you are trying to change between networks (UBS to LLU)

When you call them, make sure you press option 1. Don't go to technical help queue.... Slingshots tech help queues are stupidly long.

Ah yes, I normally call their 0800 number from my mobile to ensure they get the correct incentive to hire more helpdesk people.

Earliest available means they cant schedule it for a particular day; they just apply for it and wait for the earliest time contractors can be scheduled by Telecom to move the wires around at the exchange. But I would still want to ask Slingshot why its changed already, could have been cabinetised by Telecom so you might need to stay on the normal plan.

Time to find a new industry!
