Ring slingshot with your Telecom account details and they'll be able to move you across...

You should be able to port your landline number to them as well. They'll be able to confirm this.

I just switched to slingshot from telecom on monday
well i rang slighshot on monday and by tuesday night my homeline and broadband
was connected with slingshot even tho they said over the phone it would take 3-5 working
days i was quite suprised to get an email the next day with it all activated
just having a dispute now with telecom in regards to my final bill as i dont want to have
to be paying 2 companies

slingshot were efficient i guess because they will do anything quicksmart to get people
connected to them, I miss telecom for their upload speeds other than that slingshot
seem 'alright' g.l

That's why it is a great idea to tell Telecom (or whoever you move from) yourself that you are moving to another company.  You're lucky you are just disputing one bill....

I did tell them I was moving thats why i called to inquire about the charges on the final bill
then the person i spoke with spent 20minutes trying to convince me to stay with telecom
he kept saying over and over that he could see what they could do for me as in any deals.

i told him i was moving to slingshot then he proceeded to go on slingshot site
check the plan i wanted and the prices etc of their services it was a wasted call i spent less
time setting up an acct with slingshot than i did trying to tell telecom i wanted nothing more
to do with them.

Just don't see why i would pay the final bill when you pay a months in advance anyway so
its only gonna all get credited back to me

I was hoping slingshot would be better but i guess ill have to wait n see I am going to
recheck how long i 'have ' to be with them for my homeline and internet before i
can cancel them without paying a termination fee.

Sounds like you've got it sorted then as long as you gave them the notice dictated in the terms and conditions that they make you agree to.

I hope its sorted should be getting the last bill in the mail soon, just can't understand why
i will have to pay the final bill when itelecom is only going to credit it all back to me.

do you have slingshot too graemeh?

No, I have xnet.  I tried to move from Xnet to Telecom a while ago but due to Telecom incompetence combined with a speed increase at Xnet I didn't.

I did have a Telecom XT postpaid data plan that I disconnected recently.  When I disconnected that I asked what to do about the bill I had just received as I knew I'd just get a credit on the next one and the guy said to just ignore it and pay the final bill when it arrived.

When I disconnected the data plan they just did it effective the date I first called, I didn't need to give any notice at all.  Not sure if home broadband plans are the same though.

Oh okay xnet havent checked them out thank u for the explanation got the feeling you had issues with the bill as I do.

So the bill i get tomorrow or saturday will be the bill for the month of
June right? which SHOULD be what i paid last month as we pay a month in advance right?

Do you think this bill i get soon will be the final bill or just last months?
and if its not how long did you have to wait before you received your final bill? if I can ask
thanks

Northland with slingshot you can have the same speed plan you had with telecom for the same price with 5gb data instead of Telecom's 3gb. You just need to choose the advanced plus plan.
