I submitted the following site suggestion to setthissitefree@orcon.net.nz this afternoon (seen mention of MUBI on here already too). Below is the response I got... unless this reply has been the same for a while perhaps the list of additional O-Zone sites will be announced shortly?

Anyone else submitted sites?

.................

My Suggestion:

http://mubi.com

Soon to be released on Playstation. PS Release date: TBC. Could this be included into O Zone like TVNZ On Demand is?

See official Playstation Network feature:
http://nz.playstation.com/psn/services/detail/item280493/MUBI/

.................

Orcon Reply:

Thank you for your ‘O-Zone’ Site Recommendations.

I have forwarded your request to our Marketing Team, who are currently organising this.

Please keep an eye on the Orcon Homepage, as the Final Results will be posted shortly.

Think I got the same email when they first announced OZone and submitted a couple of sites.

Its seems to have gone very quiet on the Ozone side of things.

I asked what would be needed to have Geekzone o the O-Zone, and was told it would be considered... This was last year and never heard since.

Shame to hear the reply I got might just be a scripted response... figured it might be but hope not.

I'm thinking sites that typically use up a reasonable amount of data would be ideal for O-Zone... which is why TVNZ On Demand is a good one for those who use it. Perhaps I'm being a bit hopeful with MUBI though, although it's not going to be HD video the SD streaming would be international traffic for Orcon... perhaps too expensive to cover unlike TVNZ On Demand which I guess is local traffic?

Anyone else?

Jon

in some sense, if orcon did take on board all these sites (might as well add linux distros) then other isps may be able to complain about an unbalanced playing field. Things then will get pretty ugly. Unless of course, all other isps somehow strike similar deals (which IS the most beneficial outcome for NZ consumers). However it is rather unlikely, given the prices they are being charged.

Why would other ISPs be able to complain? Orcon has the same access to these sites as they do, so if Orcon wants to lose money/not profit off traffic to these sites, that's entirely their decision.
