I have asked SaltyNZ this question but I am hoping to get more explanation from other geekzone members.
I ported my 021 number to 2degrees just over 2 months ago.
I texted overseas quite a bit. Recently (just over 1-2 weeks ago), I realized that I did not get any of the overseas text. Please note that I have no problem receiving texts/sms from Celcom (malaysia), Softbank (japan), voipbuster or skype to my ported 021-xxxxxx number earlier.
AFAIK, no problem receiving text messages nationally.
Why all of a sudden I stop from receiving international texts? I even asked my friends to send to my 022-xxxxxxx number! None of the text messages went through to my ported 021 nor 022.
Anyone else is having this problem? I understand that some ppl having trouble with their ported numbers. My issue is, this seemed to work fine before, why now? I am still using the same phone. If this problem is related to my 'ported' number, why this is also not working with my 022 sim card. Any explanation 2degrees? I have asked them to call celcom (malaysia). The helpline even passed the phone to the 'supervisor'. They said they were aware of 2degrees presence in the market and there was no issue on their side. I agree with them because it works just fine before. Something must have changed recently? I am currently roaming on vodafone 2G network. thanks
to johnr: if i ported back my 021 to vodafone, will this problem resolved? i saved quite a bit of money when using 2degrees but if overseas text is unreliable, i would rather move back to vodafone. thanks
