New iPad 3G. Purchased new 2degrees SIM (retail normal size), called and arranged a SIM swap for a micro SIM.
Micro SIM came the next day.
Installed, called 2degrees customer care to finish the SIM swap.
Very good customer service, as usual. Went through the process. Rep understood everything that was required.
BUT, I was then unable to connect to 2degrees 3G service. "No Service" shows where previously "Voda NZ" would show (originally had installed suppled voda micro sim, but never used, but this did correctly get signal bars).
Power cycled iPad, went through troubleshooting steps...
When I go Settings > Carrier > the "Carriers: Automatic" shows, but cannot be changed.
Unit will search, then display 2degress, vodafone NZ, telecom NZ.
2degrees is ticked. However, I get no "bars" indicating signal strength. This is same regardless of location.
Also under Settings > Cellular Data >
I do not have the option described in this thread . I do not have a "SIM Applications" option.
Perhaps this SIM is incorrect, maybe an iPhone 4 SIM?
I've called customer care first thing this morning, rep advised it would require passing up to broadband team, this is fine, I understand it is unusual and don't expect front line reps to be able to troubleshoot unusual issues.
Any ideas? Does anybody have an iPad with a 2degrees micro SIM up and running yet?
I'll update when I hear back from 2degrees.
Cheers,
Joseph.
