Hi

I have Orcon Silver Home + Calling and on checking my usage I see three calls listed as destination "New Zealand - Special Service " and the number 1957. Apparently I've called the number (but haven't) three times.

Does anybody know what this is?

I haven't been charged for it so not too conerned but what is it?

1957 - reads back the number you are currently calling from (without the area code eg 7654321)

From http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Telephone_numbers_in_New_Zealand

Yes, that's what it says. But I didn't dial it?

It could have been dialled by anybody working on any of the terminations back to the exchange.
